Thermo Scientific, whose Surface Analysis product range
has been a major force in the market since the 1970s. Many of the
capabilities used routinely today in x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)
and auger electron spectroscopy (AES) were developed by the company in East
Grinstead.
Thermo Scientific's surface analysis product range
comprises systems and components for XPS and AES. System demonstrations are
available at the factory on most of the product range. The applications
team will provide detailed reports on samples analyzed either when you visit or
sample data acquired off-line. Remote web-based demonstrations are also
available, but our preference is always to host your visit to the factory.
The company's product focus is on developed solutions for routine analysis.
A key part of the product range is the Avantage datasystem.
The datasystem development team works closely with the scientists in the applications team. This
ensures that the software is continuously developed to meet the needs of
our existing and future customers. Since Thermo programmers and design engineers have
direct surface analysis experience, they understand and address the software and hardware
needs in the market.
RTA Instruments is closely networked with the UK and Ireland surface analysis and surface science communities, having worked with them for many years. Our role is to act as customer representative and
ensure that both existing and future customers can best benefit from the resources and skills within the Thermo Scientific Surface Analysis team.
For customers purchasing components such as the Alpha 110 Electron and
Ion Energy Analyser, RTA Instruments can provide vacuum system design advice and on-site installation.
K-Alpha has an extremely high performance to price ratio and
provides an ease-of-use not seen before within the XPS market. It is the first XPS tool to deliver fully automated workflow from sample entry to report generation.
ESCALAB 250 continues the line of instruments for multi-technique surface analysis with XPS, AES, ISS and UPS spectroscopy and XPS imaging. It features fast parallel imaging with very high spatial resolution and a microfocused monochromator for high sensitivity, high resolution spectroscopic analysis.
Theta Probe combines advanced monochromator, lens and detector technology to provide rapid, precise analysis. With the revolutionary ARXPS capability to provide angular data simultaneously without tilting the sample.
Other system products include the Sigma Probe XPS system, the MICROLAB 350 AES system and the Theta 300 and Theta 300XT full wafer XPS systems.
For system upgrade and self-build systems the Alpha 110 Electron and Ion Energy Analyser and associated photon and ion source components are supplied with the Avantage datasystem. This brings the huge benefit of a fully developed datasystem to this customer base.
