Thought for the month

I don’t recall that Navier,
Stokes, Bernoulli or Reynolds ever wrote a recipe book or opened a creperie,
but fluid dynamics has hit the kitchen. The surface kinematics of producing
the perfect pancake has been examined using Monte Carlo methods and partial
differential equations. Apparently success is associated with rotating and
decreasing the pan’s angle of inclination whilst adding the batter. Mine still
stick to the pan.
